nickymonte Forum newbie - be nice! Posts: 3 Location: Registered: February 2008	just in case the tree goes!!! Posted 334 days ago Hi fellow members.... I have just moved into a rental and have had the local council come around to assess removal of three hollow trees in our yard for the owner. They have'nt come to chop them down yet but just incase they turn up soon, I need to know what to do. I have recently noticed a pair of lorikeets on one of the brances popping their heads in one of the holes on the trunk. My next door neighbour says they have been there for years and nest in the hollow trunk. I want to check for babies but dont want to interfere with the tree in case i leave my scent and the parents abandon them. If the council turns up before they fly the coop what should I do? any suggestions. I have had a pet galah before for 5 years and love birds very much.	0 0 Alert moderator

The people on there are able to advise on all sorts of wildlife problems. I would contact the council and alert them that the family is nesting in the tree. They should be able to organise the removal of the tree for a few months time when the nest is empty.
