bald chooks

our chooks are loosing there feathers i have used dip i heard don talking about a prouct to ad to water ?

Assuming that your chooks are not of too much age then the major problem of feather loss is in the diet. If your Protein levels are too high than this will cause loss of feathers. Followed by intestinal problems. I have worked with poultry most of my life and found this to be the major problem, of birds not feathering up properly.

Thanks for your feedback we are feeding chooks laying pellets & mixed course grain plus weeds and vegies left overs do you see any thing wrong with diet ? The bald patches are under neck and around tail cheers Paul

Stay with your laying pallets and veggie scraps, pull out the course grain. This is putting the protein level up higher.
Chooks in small spaces will get bored thus creating a problem we call tail pecking which also leads to cannibalism. Need more information on how many and what size area they live in.
This can still be solved through diet, and space per chicken living area. If you want more on this please email me at, nfelschow1@bigpond.com
