Disobedient dogs

Posted 232 days ago

Can anybody give me some helpful hints on how to drive my car in the driveway when I get home from work without my dogs running around and barking because they are so excited to see me that they cannot control themselves at the risk of me running over them. Separation anxiety because they are quite well behaved and it's only one day a week they are left by themselves for 6 hours when nobody is home. Thanks

Stop your car outside your gate, walk into the yard, put dogs on leash or into the house or laundry, out of harms way, then return to your car and drive up the driveway.

Is that possible?

It's highly unlikely they'll get run over. Over many years we've had several dogs do the same kind of thing. So far they've not been run over by us. If they're likely to run out onto the road (if it's a busy road) while your bringing the car in then I'd follow Pomolos advise.

Even the hard, dull, dry ground harbours life - which is brought to the surface with the fresh touch of drenching rain (or the humble watering can).

Good idea, why didn't I think of it! It is a busy road and when I come in the drive is on a slant and I can't see where the dogs are so I could drive over them. Thanks for advice. Maureen
