Dirty Rabbit

Posted 826 days ago

My white rabbit dug in the garden and is really dirty, can somebody please tell me what I can bath him with.I did read somewhere that you shouldn't bath rabbits as it removes the oil from their coats.

I'm truly sorry for this, but hair-conditioner will do the trick. (Boom tish). No soap or detergent, just the conditioner. Really. That's what they use for show-animals of all descriptions to make them look good on show-day. Doesn't harm their skin or strip out the oils. No harm done if you can't manage to rinse it all off, either. Or maybe your local Bunnyings might....

My cheeky white cat decided to run outside and roll himself in the ashes of a past BBQ. I went to a pet store and bought some grooming powder that works well for white coats. You just sprinkle some on them and brush it through. It got rid of all the dirt really well and it's safe to use on animals that groom themselves. Rabbits love to dig and it's natural behaviour for them so you may be fighting a losing battle.
