baby brown snake or legless lizard???? Posted 247 days ago Whilst weeding around my melaleauca totem seedlings today, after first giving them a good soak with the hose, I came across a tiny 2 to 3 inch baby brown snake. It's not the first time I've seen the baby snakes around here. Sometimes I wonder if maybe some of them might be legless lizards???? How would you tell them apart???? This tiny creature looked a little different from the other tiny snakes I've seen (though it was slightly smaller too). |

RE: baby brown snake or legless lizard???? Posted 157 days ago Yes google pic and find a pic that enables you to compare the head scales, you might be able to identify the subject in question by counting the number of scale and by the patern od the scales, good luck |

RE: baby brown snake or legless lizard???? Posted 119 days ago Legless lizards also have remedial legs, (Skin flaps) towards the rear, they are not as agresive as brown snakes but that is not a good indication, I would say let it be and it will wander off. |

RE: baby brown snake or legless lizard???? Posted 119 days ago I think the easiest way is to see whether it has movable eyelids (snakes have a clear scale over their eyes instead of eyelids). If it blinked at you or you can see it has eyelids then it's not a snake. |

RE: baby brown snake or legless lizard???? Posted 118 days ago Ive always thought that legless lizards are long and thin, more like a long scaly earthworm. |
