Cat poohing on bed

Posted 611 days ago

I need some help, my usually quite well behaved cat has started poohing on the bed, and Mum is getting really grumpy. Its not because shes trapped as the doors or windows are open. No big changes or additions have been made around the house and she had lived there for many years. She has made mistakes in the past but now its just really a bit to frequent to be a "mistake".
She has also started stealing food, but she cant be hungry. She has always been a tad sneaky if something is left in a tempting spot, but also over the last few months she has become a real theif, jumping on the bench and biting through netting and plastic to get to the food - not even meat products.
Do you any ideas what may be going on in her lovely cat head, as mum cant take much more.

Hi Kirsty
I have it from a higher source lol that your pussy cat is around 17 1/2 human years and that she is occasionally experiencing the other side.
Just like us humans that means she can revert to her childhood memory's and habits.
I'm not sure if at times you sense her on your bed. (this can happen when she in her preparation state) I feel medically there is nothing wrong.
So just tell your folks to have patients and a good stock of washing powder.
I will send some healing to your cat and parents.
Take care
Jayne

There are a few reasons for this behavior. If you change anything in their life, like moving the litter box, a cat will let you know. Since this is not the norm and pud is allowed outside, i would take a quick trip to the vet to check that pud is first OK, tell the vet what is going on, Then If pud is medically OK, then after it has eaten, confine it to the area with the litter box, not your room, not allowing the cat inside will stop it permanently. If you haven't wormed the cat in the last 9 weeks, worm infestation can cause bad behavior. The cat is trying to get you attention, the only way it knows how to and that is to upset you with bad toileting. If it aint medical its family and changes have happened that it dont like. I have had this problem with a Persian, and it stopped when I put the litter box back where the cat thought it should be, poo on a bed is yuk and it is understandable that mum is getting upset. There is one other idea i just thought of, is the animal desexed, both male and female cats that are not desexed can have the most horrid toilet habits. I hope this helps you. Merry Christmas from a former cat breeder. Maryann
