Roosting Magpies Problem

Posted 1007 days ago

I am hoping someone can give me some advice with a big problem I have with numbers of magpies roosting in a gum tree beside our back driveway and "pooping" all over the driveway underneath. You cannot park under the tree and it is now a health problem as there is so much of it. We have tried hanging CDs in the tree but this has not deterred them. An elderly neighbour feeds them and we have 50+ of them around here. We live on 2 acres out of town. How do we persuade them to go elsewhere??

Can you quietly explain your problem to the neighbour and ask him/her to stop feeding them? They're only there in those numbers for the free tucker. Stop that, and they'll soon go away.
