pests/diseases in Magnolia Grandiflora Little Gem

I seem to have a pest and/or disease problem with my Magnolia Grandiflora Little Gem and would like to know if anyone else has experienced the same problem and how I could nurse my tree back to healh before it gets worse. Something seems to be eating the green part of the leaf and leaving behind the brown support structure, what can be doing this? I have noticed a few small snails on the leaves lately, could these snails be the problem? I hope someone can help.
