Problem Possums

Posted 552 days ago

I have a major problem with possums eating everything thing in my vegie garden, the neighbours have them living in their shed and they own a dog, so the possums won't go in their yard, but live in ours instead, my vegies are just destroyed by them - any ideas???

The only sure way is to totally enclose your gardens with something like chicken wire or the equivalant.

There are products available on the market that are suppose to keep possums away. One is called Poss-Off. I'm sure there would be others. I have also heard that Quassia chips work as well.

Hope this is some help.

You could also try an open weave netting. The possums don't like it as it is not a solid structure that they can hold on to.

We have tried this on our ezyGrow raised garden bed with a frame and draping the netting over it.

Keeping
the vegie garden off the ground is a good start but draping the netting over is the key.

Happy harvesting ... before the possums get it.
