African Grey Parrot Posted 281 days ago My daughter lives in Sweden and has an African Grey parrot that she is very attached to and who is almost like a child. He speaks very clearly in an Aussie accent and even sings opera. She wants to come back to Australia to live and has been told she can't bring the bird because of bird flu. Does anyone know any way that she might be able to get around this. The bird lives in her apartment with her and her husband and has not associated with any other birds. Any help would be appreciated. |

RE: African Grey Parrot Posted 162 days ago Thanks for your advice, I contacted Customs who sent my enquiry to Quarantine and they said NO emphatically, there is no way Maverick the African Grey parrot who thinks he is about 5 years old, who sings opera and recites nursery rhymes and says to my daughter "Hello Gorgeous" when she comes home from work, will be allowed into Australia. Thanks again for your advice, my family are all brokenhearted but we have to accept the rules. |
