cold shoulder by bird Posted 469 days ago I have a rainbow lorikeet that has almost lived on my shoulder for the first 3 yrs of her life, and now (the last 4-5 months) has totally rejected me, running or flying away from me in a petrified state. |

RE: cold shoulder by bird Posted 458 days ago LORIKEETS ARE VERY TEMPERAMENTAL AND AT THAT AGE SHE IS PROBABLY WANTING TO START A FAMILY SO A MALE WOULD BE A GOOD IDEA BUT IT ALSO WOULDN'T HURT HER IF THIS IS NOT WHAT YOU WANT TO DO, SEE WILL LAY MORE EGGS BUT JUST GET RID OF THEM AND SHE SHOULD START BEING YOUR FRIEND AGAIN SOON, |

RE: cold shoulder by bird Posted 438 days ago birds know when eggs are no good so they throw them out. she hasnt rejected you, she is trying to intice you. she will be fine without a mate but will have periods of being sexually frustrated. this can make birds destructive and very noisy. she sees you as her mate and is feeling just as rejected. introducing a mate will fix this after the fighting stops but she will be less close with you |

RE: cold shoulder by bird Posted 339 days ago some birds just need to mate in my experience a mate is a good solution unless you are prepared for her tantrums lol she will not continue all the time and will have momnets of love lol but will be unpredictable you will learn to read her when she is about to change but a boyfriend may just be the trick lol heres our website so you can see what we do |
