I think you will need to speak to some caged bird experts to answer that question. I can think of answers that would work if mice didn't climb but we all know that they can climb very well.

It is going to be a big job to mouse proof your aviary, you could try snake mesh, concreting it to the floor - concrete the entire floor, seal up any small gaps around the door with rubber....... maybe the easyest way to deter the mice is to keep the aviary immaculately clean, but we all know how hard that is going to be.
Any predators are going to go for the easier target - your birds so that is out of the question.

So my last suggestion is to concentrate on the nesting box, perches and food bowl.
nesting box & perches - use the least amount of fixing points as you can, and make them hard to climb on.
food bowl - think about removing this at night when the mice are most likely to come out.

try a guinea pig. apparently they keep mice and rats away

hi there we run a rescue shelter for birds and breed our own and luckily have managed to keep away mice we do keep our aviaries very clean they are cleaned and swept every morning also we have a small gauge wire that is screwed to the floor befoor the flooring is put down and double wire on front one of which being a very small holed one we also leave the fruit and veges the eat in untill dusk and then remove it and all seed husks and poo are remover daily,an easy way for the removal of poo to save time is to fill cat little trays with sand and place under perches it catches most and can be empyiedeasily hope this helps here is our site so you can see what we do here
