lawn clippings

Posted 758 days ago

Can anyone please tell me how long lawn clippings need to be aged before using on the garden?
My compost heap is full and the mowing season has only just begun.

Make sure you keep turning them to help them dry out. If you don't turn them the heat builds up in them and they will take forever to dry.

If you spread them around thinly they dry out quickly without the usual heating-up which can damage roots. Seasol will speed-up your compost. It helps the good-guy bacteria to build up more quickly than normal.
