on-site stormwater detention policies Posted 436 days ago I've been doing some online research regarding this topic as we recently built a home and are required by council to provide onsite stormwater storage to detain 35,000 litres. ( To meet the requirements of the Upper Parramatta & Hawkesbury River catchment Authority-which I believe has now become non-existent.) We've managed to delay the process for over 2 years due to the exhorbitant costs we were quoted, but mainly because it didn't make sense to me to have this huge underground concrete "pool" which could not be used.I know things are slowly changing, and I'm aware of the Atlantis drainage cells referred to by Don in his magazine & show, but I'm wondering how councils are placed with regard to these systems and/or if anyone is aware of any research or facts or figures I can arm myself with when I visit council. A neighbour also mentioned that pre-fab concrete tanks are available- but for this capacity??? Anyone have any helpful info?? |
