removing saplings

Posted 855 days ago

hi
we have recently brought two acres in townsville and we are building our dream house. The block seems to have 1000's of eucalyptus and differnt types of shrubs and sapings comming up. We really need to get rid of most of these but we just don't know where to start. Poison, keep mowing or even if there is a place that collects and gives them away.Oh and pulling them all out by hand is really out of the question. Does anyone know the best way
thanks

I think the only way your going to get rid of them for good is too mow them, then poision them straight away after mowing.

Cheers

Probably not very practical, but a couple of goats would do the trick in no time flat.

In the wilds of FNQ i would definitely attack excess foliage with some angry goats( or a pack of koalas )

In all seriousness, if the property is adequately fenced, goat growers will agist or hire out their stock to do exactly that sort of job. Goats are preferable to koalas in this instance, 'cause have you ever tried to fricassee a koala? Tough, man; really tough.
