Planting under the eaves ....

Hi,
I have a garden bed - under the eaves - facing south-east - in Ringwood, Victoria.
It's about 600mm wide and 6M long. I'd like to plant some low (30cm to 60cm) flowering shrubs; perennials and annuals to give me year round colour. I like azaleas and rhodas but believe that there wouldn't be enough sun.
