Posts: 2 Location: 5108 Registered: March 2010	ooops mushy peaches Posted 686 days ago Hi all, we bottled some peaches but I forgot to turn of the Vacula after an hour, now the peaches are all mushy, Any suggestions about what to do with them now? pie, jam, etc.(be kind please). fortunately there were enough left on the tree for 6 more bottles. _________ The older I get, the better I was.	0 0 Alert moderator

Don't think they'd be any good for jam as you need firm peaches for that. You could make a syrup, put them in and stew for a short while just to infuse them with the syrup then use over ice cream as a topping. Also might be good as a filling for peach crumble. If you mix other fruit such as cooked, mashed apple and add some cinnamon or cloves, etc., it would make a nice filling for pies and crumbles. _________	0 0 Alert moderator
