I'm not sure just what it is you want to know about pruning. If you are shaping the plants into a hedge then the thing is to just clip it the shape you flancy, whenever you fancy. Do it regularly to keep the hedge full of good thick growth and neat and tidy.

It took us years to understand how to look after this planted hedge. My experience is, give it a nice wide bed, topped us with nice organic soil, well mulched. Feed every spring Sept/Oct. Can prune at this time around October just before summer hits, so encourages new growth can be seen in first growth flush. Then as each new burst of growth happens we let the fresh yellowy/green growth mature then assess how much to prune next. With each successive prune, depends how long you wait as to how much to take off. Don't be afraid about pruning murraya, the harder you go, the more she will benefit. Feed, water, mulch, weed and prune. She will thank you for it, don't give up.
We use an electric hedge trimmer and string line to help keep your eye in line. Much easier over longer distance, but can use other manual clippers. Trim all sides that you can see and that get light...if one side up against a fence eg: colourbond that won't grow anyway, so just what you can see. DOn't allow to grow too long and scraggeley, won't bush up this way. Regular trimming is best.
