Leech Infestation of Lawn Posted 87 days ago Our house backs onto bush in the Illawarra south of Sydney. We have a major problem with leeches on our back lawn whenever there is any moisture on the ground. The leeches latch onto our dogs, kids and firends which makes things very difficult. |

RE: Leech Infestation of Lawn Posted 85 days ago This is probably due to the drought ending and the leeches coming out of hibernation where they went during the drought. Probably would be best to get in touch with the Australian Museum (02 - 9320 6000) to see what they believe is the cause and perhaps they can let you know whether it's possible to get rid of them. If they are already attached to a person, sprinkling salt on them will usually cause them to detach. |

RE: Leech Infestation of Lawn Posted 71 days ago Is it a drainage problem? I would have thought leeches would need quite a bit of moisture to survive. |
