thoughts on a palm tree Posted 770 days ago While relaxing and looking up at the blue skies through the palm tree fronds an odd thought occurred to me. We know that as the palm tree grows it drops its fronds and leaves the rings on the trunk. Well, what happens when the palm reaches its maximum height? It can't keep growing and dropping fronds can it, otherwise it would just keep growing taller and they'd be some kilometre high trees around the place. Does it die or stop producing new leaves? |

RE: thoughts on a palm tree Posted 764 days ago What kind of palm it is? I planted some cocos palms on my driveway same years ago they loocked good at first, they do stop growing but they still produce seeds and fronds and grow very slow, believe me they are a nuisance and a pest, cocatoos come and heat they nuts, also at night bats come and they POO is like gloo it sticks on everything and it is hard to clean especially if drops on your car, anyhow they are classified as weeds; have a guess what I did after they grew some 15 20 meters high, yes I cut them down all five, roots are very shallow and take over everywhere, won't let you grow nothing because of that. |

RE: thoughts on a palm tree Posted 764 days ago When it reaches it's max. height, you can climb up it and grab onto the first goose you see up there. Then bolt. Great question, though. |
