Ant in my vegi garden !!.

Posted 771 days ago

Is there any way of getting rid (or controling)ants in a vegi garden.I know they are ment to be good, but they are getting into my corn especially.last year they ate all the cobs even before they were ready to harvest. They have got into my tomatoes and capsicums as well.Any ideas will be greatly apreciated.

I was always very sceptical re. ants damaging actual fruit and veg's until about a fortnight ago when I watched them ACTUALLY EATING the just forming lemonades. The old-fashioned answer is to smear a generous layer of vasoline around the trunk of the plant, at least three inches long, and starting about the same above the ground. Hope this helps a bit.
