Mulcher mower and weeds in lawn

Posted 151 days ago

We have a lot of different variety of weeds in our lawn. We have recently been given a mulcher mower. Will the mower kill of the weeds as it mulches, will mulching the lawn spread the weeds or do we have to get rid of the weeds first.

Most weeds die back with regular mowing but not all. One of the most important things is to mow the grass before the weeds get a chance to flower and then set seed. Once that seed gets a chance to dry off and spread then you have thousands of new weeds to contend with.

I'm not sure if anybody would be able to tell

me the name of a big weed which has come up in

my yard it is almost 6ft. tall has massive leaves

greenish grey very straight stem with whorls all

the way down It looks a bit like a Hollyhock

but I'm sure it isn't. No flowers yet but a

little cluster near the top looks as though

it might flower but hasn't yet. If anyone has

any idea what it may be I would love to find out.

I have not been able to find out on the Internet.

Thanks

I have no idea what it is but a nursery will probably be able to help you. Take a leaf and a flower if possible so they can ID it for you.
