When to treat weeds?

Posted 426 days ago

It looks like the clover weed in our front yard & am wondering if, when I mow it, it then dies but if it doesn't when do I treat it & with what? Is it still too cold to give attention to weeds?

it is unlikely it dies if you mow it. i tried it but it will be better if you don't mow it at all but better to spray since you know where it is growing and can get a good application on the affected area.

a weed spray that kills clovers will do the job though be prepared as it will be likely to occur next year.

Treat it when it's in full flower but BEFORE seed-set. Don't try to mow it to death, it will only put out more runners. As it is starting to flower, don't mow at all. That forces it upwards rather than outwards. Like with oniongrass, just keep at it.

now is the time to treat clover and bindi.as hutcho said all weeds should be treated when flowering. Have had success with CHEMSPRAY bin-die but any good weed and feed type spray should work without killing lawn.

Clover

Posted 364 days ago

I get rid of clover, but with mixed feelings, as I get rid of plant that dies back every year and fixes nitrogen in soil.
The only reason I kill it, because I don't like the look of my lawn with clover.
