Grasshoppers

Posted 277 days ago

We live on the Sunshine Coast and our vegie garden and potted fruit trees are being eaten to bits by a plague of grasshoppers - ranging from tiny ones to huge ones, approximately 7-8cms! How do we get rid of them? What do the eggs look like? They've even eaten the mint and basil!! We also have a enormous chilli bush (about 2 metres high) which they haven't touched.
Please, please, please can someone help ... our beautiful little vegie patch is quickly disappearing!!!!

You might have just answered your own question. If they are not attacking your chilli bush then try a chilli spray on everything that they are eating. Make it up yourself with some chillies. There are lots of chillie spray recipes on the net. Other than that there is only really one way I know to keep them off and that is mozzie netting.
