Sick mango tree

Posted 675 days ago

The mature mango tree [about 20 years] in our recently acquired property in Taree, produced a heavy crop of fruit which promptly fell off. We managed to get about 20 fruits which were a good flavor. There was no sign of fruit fly as we put out baits. However, since cropping, the tree has many dead stems and the leaves are rather yellow compared to healthy trees in the vicinity.
We have poisoned the grass growing under the base with glyphosphate and have added mulch in the form of grass clippings, added some dynamic lifter and watered well.
Is this treatment likely to be successful or do we need to try other solutions? Why have the leaves turned yellow?

Alas! The tree is just about dead now. An expert has said that the tree has been poisoned. There are several other trees, not mangoes, in the nearby area, which have also been exterminated.
