Posted 689 days ago

Hi to all you citrus experts out there.

I am controlling scale on my citrus trees using white oil every couple of weeks. Does anybody have other remedies?

Might also help if you can keep the ants away from the scale, which will give its natural predators a fair go. Something sticky around the trunk, e.g. double-sided adhesive tape or vaseline will stop them. I had ants eating my citrus flowers, and tried painting neat Lebaycid around the base of the trunk ( to keep the bees safe ). It worked a treat ! Hope this helps.

Thanks Hutcho. I have applied double sided tape to the trunk. I will let you know how it goes. Just wondering if you have a tip for controlling codling moths on apple trees.

Cheers
