BobbieJ Forum stalwart Posts: 120 Location: Lake Macquarie Registered: February 2009	Mulch Types - which is best Posted 654 days ago Hello all you very experienced vegie gardeners We hire a chipper and chip all the tree branches, etc into a huge pile of mulch. After leaving it for a few months it is full of worms and breaking down really well, so much be pretty good. Usually we put this around the ornamentals etc. Would you recommend this for the vegie garden or is sugar cane mulch or pea/straw better? _________ Of all the wonderful surprises in life, none is better than seeing that first shoot tear out of the earth and form into a wonderful plant and vegetable.. .	0 0 Alert moderator

I've found sugarcane is far and away the best for the veggie patch.
