Black patch on Tomato stem

Posted 771 days ago

I have noticed that there is a black patch on the stem of my tomato plant and also on the stem of the tomato itself, Im not sure what to do. The leaves at the top of the plant are curling and the plant is not growing as well as the other plants ( other ones dont have any black patches, should I seperate it from the others?) I dont really know if it is the soil or the black patch.

Oh does any one have any suggestions on how to keep possums away from my tomato plants.

Hi tomato64. I'd suggest the best thing to do is separate it straight into the recycle bin. You do get the occasional dud, and there's nothing I've ever tried that saves them. If it is some type of fungus you're much better off to bin it a.s.a.p. Maybe someone else can offer something a bit more optimistic.
