I have 2 Navel Orange trees with plenty of fruit but some of the fruit is spliting , is this due to too much or too less water

Hi Tonky. My father is a citrus fruit grower, so I asked him about this. He said the fruit splitting may be due to a calcium deficiency. He sprays his Navels with Calcium Chloride around December. This is to strenghten the rind of the fruit, to help prevent splitting. He also uses Geberillic acid. (I think I have that name right!). If the leaves are curling, then they aren't getting enough water. You should hopefully find the calcium at one of the big Bunnings stores, I find them very good. Good luck, hope this has helped. :-)

actually Don Burke talked about this and said it is caused by both infrequent watering and not enough water

I have an orange tree. It flowers every spring but does not convert into oranges. Also the height of the tree is the same from the past 4 years.

have you given it manure. it may need that extra boost as it requires a lot of energy to produce fruit

dynamic lifter is the best. also the fruit may not get pollinated so maybe putting some strong scented flowers may help to call the bees

I have a new Washington Navel and it has stopped growing. I am watering it every second day. It's leaves look partly closed (not opened out as is my Eureka lemon leaves). Any suggestions?
Cheers
