Cherry tree in blossom

Posted 230 days ago

I noticed today that my fruiting cherry has lots of blooms on it. Isn't this the wrong time? What do I do? In Perth.

I would be very surprised if you get cherries off your tree, they need a certain amount of very chilly temperatures e.g. frosts...not that likely in Perth, is it, unless you're in Perth, Tasmania! I bet your tree doesn't know what season it is.

I think you may be right that the tree is confused. It didn't do this last year. I'm in WA. I get it to fruit very successfully by giving it ice at the right time of the year.

Wow, never heard that before....How often do you have to do that, and for how long?
