Citrus Trees

Posted 240 days ago

I am currently living overseas (an ex-pat Ozzie) and for the life of me I can not find a lemon, mandrine or orange let alone a loquat!! Can anyone please tell me if there is a nursery in Oz which has the capacity to supply a tree of each of the above and get them to me. Obviously quarantine and customs in both countries will be involved.

I have a mandarin tree, I live on the Sunshine Coast QLD. It's fruiting all over, but very sour. What can I feed it?

Cheers
Rod

Try to leave them on the tree till you get some cold weather. Preferably a frost. For some reason it helps to sweeten them up.

We have some very nice lemon trees that produce so many fruit I cannot keep up with them and they rot on the ground. I remove these as they get a bug (true bug in them and put them in the recycle green bin. Any ideas about how to treat or prevent the bug???

Also I have 3 kids, one of whom is disabled and not much time to use the lemons in lots of cooking or juice. can I freeze whole lemons without making them go brown? Also, if I can freeze them, what is the best way to thaw them so they are not "smooshy".
Thank you.
