RE: Growing Ginger Posted 667 days ago Hi tanjat, I have had some Galangal growing in a 60cm self watering pot for over two years now with no evident problems so far. The visible leaves have spread from a tuft in the centre of the pot to completely filling it. I have had a couple of digs underneath to see if anything was developing, but so far there have only been roots and no rhizomes. I am experimenting as well with a piece of store bought ginger placed in a little seed raising mix. I'll keep you posted. |

RE: Growing Ginger Posted 666 days ago Hi tanjat, I have had quite good success in growing ginger in an old bath tub. I just planted some ginger that I had bought in shops. I think you have to get organic or untreated ginger as it can be treated with chemicals to stop sprouting. It takes around 6 months to get enough rhizome on it to pick then you can just replant a bit of it. hope this helps. |
