growing choko vine from a mature fruit Posted 78 days ago I have half submerged in soil, three mature sprouting Chokos.Do I water the three sparingly or a lot. Will they rot if I water a lot? or is that supposed to happen.I have read that the seed inside is what grows the vine, and the outside flesh of the fruit does rot off, dropping the seed into the dirt and off it grows. |

RE: growing choko vine from a mature fruit Posted 78 days ago Just water the submerged choko the same as you would water other plants they should not rot, the seed roots will take over the vine will flourish quite easily be prepared for a lot ot chokos, when cooked the seed is quite nice to eat.the choko is very easy to grow |

RE: growing choko vine from a mature fruit Posted 77 days ago I'm getting mine ready to grow too. I've grown a few before at my old place in Sydney. Here it's hard to find a good place to grow it but I'm now going to try it in my green house (best wind protection I can find for it). I'll be watering mine sparingly, but that's only because our water supply is limited. I knw they like the soil to be kept reasonably moist though - so lots of mulch will be going down around it. |
