Hi Jacksprat
I grew these fruit trees on the Blue Mountains in NSW and they produced a lot of good fruit, when these trees go dormant and drop their leaves I used to cut back the spindly branches to a reasonable height and prune some of the branches out of the centre to create air flow, if you go onto the net and type in "pruneing peaches, plums /fruit trees" I am sure you will gain a wealth of information
good luck and enjoy your fruit
