pink lady apple dwarf and Frog pond Posted 732 days ago Thanks for your reply.I visited that site and found out Dwarf Granny Smith ,Fuji,Gala or red Delicious will fix the problem of the dropping fruit. Also does anyone know how to seal an old bath and laundry tubs drain hole so I can turn them into a frog pond and water feature for wet plants?I have some plants already in a sealed glazed pot but I want to make it bigger and enviromentally friendly for the frogs and I,m not sure what to seal the holes with that won,t hurt frogs. What plants are toxic to frogs I would not want to put it near toxic plants? Also I have Oriental Lillies,Asiatic lillies and hippiastrum bulbs in the bath at the moment.Do you take them out and leave them in the garage until spring and plant them somewhere else?As they don,t seem to die back like other bulbs they keep coming up are they bulbs that like to stay in the ground and become naturalized if so when is the best time to lift them to some where else?Margaret |

RE: pink lady apple dwarf and Frog pond Posted 729 days ago If you will be using a filter,as in a fish-tank, just run a bead of Aquarium sealant around a bathplug, then put the plug in,and that will do the job. If not filtering, just use the plug only. Makes it easy to drain out for cleaning and water replacement. You will need to do that to avoid stagnant water and mozzies. With un-sealed plug there will be a very slight leakage factor to take into account, depending on where it is situated. |
