re Feature walls pg 23

Posted 152 days ago

Im going to try my hand at some boxes on my garage wall, like on pg 23 of Burke's Mag. The wall is west facing, in a mediteranian climate.
I need non toxic ideas (I have youngin's). I thought strawberries and petunias, does anyone have any other ideas??
Maybe something unusual..... Its a big wall.

Geraniums, specially ivy geraniums do well in a Mediteranian climate.

Pepinos do really well tumbling down a wall. I find well grown fruit that have vine ripened are a very welcome addition to fruit salads and would go well with strawberries. Also tomatoes of any description can grow down as well as up, perhaps the bushy Roma lok best.

Another splendid combination (same box) is 'Rainbow chillis', the very small multi coloured ones y'know :-), and golden oregano.
