Problem Fig Posted 166 days ago I have a black genoa fig which has not been fruiting well for a couple of years. In its first couple of years it was good but now it's dropped right off. Growth is very vigorous and i cut it back heavily every year. There is some yellowing of leaves during the growing season, almost like a mosaic virus. We are close to the sea and don't get frosts. I can't think of any reason for it's lack of productivity. I have dosed it a couple of times with trace elements. ANy suggestions. |

RE: Problem Fig Posted 165 days ago Has it been fertilised? I only ask because you say that growth is vigorous and perhaps that is at the expence of fruit. |

RE: Problem Fig Posted 144 days ago I would suggest that you are pruning off the growth which bears the friut. One book I looked in said that you should only prune off dead & unsightly growth. Maybe the salt in the air is causing the discolouration in the leaves. |
