Raised garden bed on a deck?

Hi all,

I have just purchased a home with a detached deck, approx 3m x 3m, which once housed a spa (previous owners have taken the spa). The deck is at the back of the property, reasonable sun exposure and on ground level.

I would love to install raised vege beds on the deck, but wonder what problems I could face? Eg, rotting deck etc. Also, should I place something underneath the beds for drainage etc?

Any advice would be much appreciated please.
