Hi lemondrops, like you I'm new here and just found your posting.

DPI have a beaut book called "Growing Fruit in the Home Garden" (or something like that, they have one for veges too) and they advise fertilising the mulberries in May and Dec.

I use an organic fertiliser, Kapek, which I get locally in Beerwah, it has sufficient NPK plus trace elements, and is based on chook manure.

We had a fantastic crop from our one tree in Sept, the birds, neighbours, my wife and I all had a good feast, and underneath the tree smelt like a distillery. (saved a fortune on wine, one whiff, and yeehaa)

Mulberries don't have any problems with pests and diseases either.
