shrivelling zucchinnis

Posted 793 days ago

I have two very large zucchinni bushes, but it seems the zucchinni is growing to about 10 cms and then they turn yellow. What has caused this problem?

This usually means they are not being pollinated, maybe not enough bees. The trick is to remove the male flower and insert it inside the female flower. I have to do this every year as I have had the same problem. Good luck

Mine zucchini's did the same! Either turned yellow and mushy before the flower opened, or after it opened. Self polinating and applying calcium didn't help. I think it was the excessive humidy then all the sudden rain we got in SE Qld which effected them. I gave up and took the plant out a couple of weeks ago and planted bok-choy and chinese broccoli instead (they like this weather). I'll try zucchini again when things are bit cooler and not so wet.
