Im prety sure you can, I know they like the rough treatment, and some friends of mine swear by hitting their tree at the beginning of spring, they say it makes them fruit better.....
I think Mangos are fairly hardy.
Good luck and don't hurt your back.

Where abouts are you gardening, and how big is the mango tree? The smaller the tree it is, the easier it will be to transplant, and in the case of mangoes, the warmer your climate the better your chances, too.

Wherever you live, give it plenty of water through its first summer in the new spot. It won't have that many roots, so it will need a fair few drinks. And speaking of roots, some regular applications of Seasol, to encourage root growth, probably wouldn't hurt either.
