Possums eating tomatoes Posted 812 days ago We've been growing our own veges for a couple of months now and have finally got to the stage where the tomatoes are starting to turn from green to yellow. The kids are desperate to taste their first homegrown tomato. Only problem is, the possums raided the tomato bush last night and have eaten all the yellowing tomatoes and left the green ones behind. I assume the green tomatoes will also disappear once they start yellowing. Any tips for keeping the wildlife away from the tomatoes while they ripen on the bush? |

RE: Possums eating tomatoes Posted 810 days ago This problem crops up regularly here. I don't recall anybody having any other surefire solution other than physical protection with chook-wire or such. |

RE: Possums eating tomatoes Posted 558 days ago I know that if you have possums or rats in the roof you throw in a handful of moth balls - they all disappear in a great hurry. Don't know if this would help with your tomatoes at all. |
