Artichoke plant

Hi All,

My artichoke plant has white spots all over the leaves (which makes them wilt eventually) and lots of ants (I presume this is due to scale although I can not see any). I also found that the last crop was infested with earwigs in side the flowers. I have used eco oil, but would like to know if there is anything else I could do or if anybody has any tips on growing artichokes.
