Hi nanna I have citrus trees too , citrus need to be fed at beginning of each season and do need lots of water and drainage, but most of all do need to have water when are in flower and start to have small fruits to make swell slowly and give moisture to the skin otherways they grow dry and when then get water in the end they will split because the skin it is to dry.
Good luck let me know as you go regards

Nanna also don't forget to spray the tree every two weeks whith pest oil to keep insect and bugs out of the tree.
Good luck TOMATOJOE48

My lemon tree which which has had a great track record for the past 10 yrs, has loads of fruit, which are now brown and dry inside - inedible. The tree is shedding the fruit before ripening. Tree looks healthy!
Does anyone have any clues. I hate buying lemons.
