Growing Mangoes

Posted 813 days ago

Is there a clear protective bag available to protect my mangos while they are growing. I followed Don's advice and sprayed the tree and have a bumper crop for the first time in years and I don't want to lose them to the local fruit bats

I have no idea, but mangoes are my supreme favourites so would like to offer some suggestions. The bats natural predators are the Owl and Blue Jay, as well as snakes. If this doesn't upset your neighbours too much perhaps you could dangle a few of these off the tree? (plastic of course). Would bats be bothered by twisted foil that moves in the breeze? Christmas tinsel would be easy to find. I've also seen netting thrown over trees but perhaps this would be a pain to remove later and also trap birds and bats.
Good luck. Send me one :)

No gardener is really good before he has killed one or two plants.
