very sad meyer lemon

Posted 68 days ago

we have a meyer lemon tree that is about 8-9 years old. it is planted on the edge of our septic trench with a lime, lemonade, orange and ruby grapefruit. it has always fruited prolifically. a couple of years ago it got blown over and we replanted it about half its roots were exposed. it fruited that year again beautifully. it is now dying off and barely fruits at all. we mulch and fertilise it as recommended but the leaves remain yellow on the tips and more dead branches are appearing any suggestions or do i start again with a new tree

I think I'd go with a whole new tree. It reads as though your lemon was severely damaged when it got blown over. Even though it fruited well after replanting that may have been as a reaction to the fact it had been blown over. That's natures way of keeping the species going when a plant feels threatened. It produces lots of fruit and therefore seeds so the line will continue if it dies.
