Lemon/Lime Splice, Fejioa, Apricot Trees

Posted 435 days ago

Hello

I Live in South Australia and between my fiance and I we would like to grow a lemon/lime splice, a fejioa and an apricot tree in our backyard. The question is, as we want to do them in a line along the fence is there a specific order they should be grown and what is a recommended distance between each tree?

you should know how big the tree grows to. i have seen people plant trees 1 metre apart which in 10 years later in bunched up pretty bad. that is what you want to avoid.

to give some idea you should know how big the tree grows in width. this will tell the spacing of the trees.
e.g. i planted two small citrus trees in the ground. i placed them 4 meters apart from stem to stem reason each tree will have a radius of 2m thus giving room to grow and roots as well.
main idea is to plan ahead when ever you plant other wise you will regret it and it is harder to change in the future

Good luck with the fejioa. I have two and they are the slowest growers. My grand father had one that was atleast 4 meters high by 6 meter wide. You need two to fruit so my mum tells me.
