Problem With Orange Trumpet

Posted 169 days ago

we planted about 12 orange trumpet climbers about 6 months ago.The leaves have brown tips the yellow then a little bit of green on them.We Are in Central QLD, so they have been through the floods and the dry drought weather.
we have given them borax, and then a couple of months after when that didn't work give them some trace elements and still nothing. Have done a ph test and its 8.5 just wondering what we should do??
There are two out of the 12 that flowered first when we did plant them and now these 2 are really struggling.. they have droped there leaves. please help before they die on us. thankyou

Hi. sorry can't really help you, but I planted an orange trumpet vine about 12 months ago, basically left it to look after itself, with just the occasional watering through the dry spell, and its now got its first flowers and seems to be doing fine. a few of the leaves have turned yellow/brown,but most of them seem fine, and I figure as long as its flowering, it must be happy.

Good luck, hope they come good for you.

Try adding lots of manures and compost to your soil to make it more acid. 8.5 is very alkaline and these additions may help to bring it down.
