how to prune standard sasanquas

Posted 2083 days ago

I have 10 standard sasanquas-all different types- that have grown too tall- over 2.5 mts - to keep trimmed. How do I reduce the height to about 2 mts where most of the foliage is in the top .5 mts
I have cut some of the thicker branches with mixed results some have new shoots and some havent The standard trunk is as thick as an arm and there are some new shoots on some.
Do you think I should take a couple of years to trim them or use a chainsaw.
