Jacaranda Tree

Posted 2463 days ago

I was reading Dons article regarding Jacaranda trees.
Can anyone answer my query regarding pruning the suckers off a young tree or just leave them.
There is too many different opinions on this matter.
I believe if the tree was in the wild it would not get the attention and i was tending towards leaving it do it's own thing.

How are you going with your jacaranda? Did you leave to grow ala natural or did you decide to prune off the suckers? My jacaranda is still quite a young tree and I've never had suckers come up on it. If it had I think I would have cut them off and just allowed the main stem to grow (as has happened - and the tree is growing well).
Even the hard, dull, dry ground harbours life - which is brought to the surface with the fresh touch of drenching rain (or the humble watering can).
